Legacy Platform is the “old” platform that we’re all accustomed to.
The Agent Sites and Property Sites are what’s new to the ballgame. Point2 has announced big upgrades, but that’s really “just” for these Agent Sites and Property Sites.
The Legacy platform is still the same ol’ same ol’…
Agent Sites & Property Sites – DROP DOWN MENU SYSTEM – the agent site allows for the drop down menu system and offers a “manage menu” area to drag and drop your pages as you want them.
Legacy Platform – you’ll still have to bring in a custom menu system on your own.
Agent Sites & Property Sites – CUSTOM FORMS – The only thing I see is the contact form can now be placed inside the side columns. That’s the only change. Home Evaluation form is still available and still the same.
Legacy Platform – still the same ol’ same ol’.
Agent Sites & Property Sites – NEW THEMES – no customization is available in these sites at all. You can only swap out images based on whatever theme you’re using.
Legacy Platform – you’ll need/use this platform for any custom website taking it away from any theme and the themes that were available before are the same ones available now.
Agent Sites & Property Sites – LISTING DISPLAYS – you can only showcase your listings or your IDX solution’s listings. No handshake options here.
Legacy Platform – still the same – you can showcase your listings, your IDX solution’s listings and/or handshakes from Point2.
Agent Sites & Property Sites – TEMPLATE AREA (GLOBAL) – no “template” area for global header, footer, left or right column changes. So any tracking code has to be placed on each page individually within the page settings area. This used to be the way it was done way back when…so it seems this has taken us backwards as far as tracking code installation goes.
Legacy Platform – you still have this area for complete customization of the website. Tracking code can be placed in the global footer area for ease in administering any tracking code.
So the bottom line is…
There is no change to the Legacy Platform. And I believe members were anticipating upgrades to this platform “as well as” any new platforms being introduced or implemented, like the Agent Sites and Property Sites.
You will “need” the Legacy Platform if you want a custom website – then the Agent Site will be something if you want to have a mini-site about yourself (using a pre-made theme), and the Property Sites are up to 5 at the Professional level so you might not even use this feature if you have more than 5 listings. Just as well putting them in and using them in the Legacy Platform (main website).
When a new member signs up from here forward…they will still have the standard level site unless they upgrade to Professional level membership…then the Legacy platform will appear in the Websites section.
